Imbolg's second release expands upon their diverse style that ranges from traditional hard rock and
metal in the vein of Black Sabbath, Danzig and Type O Negative while leaning towards the styles of
Punk, Death Rock, Synth and of course Goth. All songs on the album were written by Imbolg's
Singer/Guitarist Nate Dal Cais with the exception of the song
“Your Darkest day” co-written lyrically by Chris “Pit” Gnecco
    formerly of rock band Ours

The Sorrows was inspired by an Irish Folk Tale called Deidre of the Sorrows.
Although the title itself sets a mood of sadness, and may suggests it may only
contain more slow tempo or somber songs, nothing could be more false. A perfect
example of this is the album’s first single “Red Devil” that echoes tones that are
similar to two of the band’s main influences: Type O Negative and the 69 Eyes.
Some other notable tracks include a more synth based song called “Edward”
inspired by the Tim Burton film Edward Scissorhands, “an Autumn Night” a duet
with Dal Cais on Piano vocals and guest accompaniment by Helen Buyniski on
Violin, and “Paler Still” a modern Punk Rock song reminiscent of another of the
    band’s influences the Misfits.
